We're very excited to introduce Check Templates! Check Templates are a collection of saved settings you can assign to multiple checks. They come in three varieties:

Now, when creating a check, instead of manually entering in various settings, you can choose to use your Check Templates when configuring Schedule, Status & Notifications. If you need to edit settings in the future, you can quickly modify your check template & any check that is configured to use that template will automatically use the new settings.

You can also apply your templates to existing checks, either one at a time or via the Bulk Edit feature on the Checks page.

Check Templates can be created a couple of different ways:

To create a new check template from scratch, head to the Check Templates page (Checks -> Check Templates).

Simply click the Add Template button for the type of template you'd like to create. You'll be presented with the New Template page. Simply fill out the settings, give your new template a name, and it'll be ready to go.

If you'd like to copy settings from an existing check to a template, simply view the check you'd like to copy settings from. You'll see new Copy to Template buttons in the Status, Schedule & Notifications sections. Simply click the button, give your template a name, and it'll be ready to go.

To use your new templates, you can use the new Template selector when creating or editing a check. You'll see this dropdown in the Schedule, Status & Notifications sections when creating or editing a check:

Simply choose the template you'd like to use, and you'll see the settings included in the template displayed: This check will now use the selected settings included in the template.

To edit the settings in a template, simply head to the Check Templates page (Checks -> Check Templates) and click the Edit Template button beside the template you'd like to edit. Make your changes & save the template. Your new settings will automatically be applied to any checks that are configured to use this template.
